Myanmar: 5.9-magnitude earthquake hits east of Falam (Chin state) April 16

The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 5.9-magnitude earthquake 38 km (24 mi) east of Falam (Chin state), near the border state of Mizoram (India), at approximately 18:15 (local time) on Thursday, April 16; the quake struck at a depth of 10 km (6 mi). There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant material damage, although the USGS estimates some fatalities and infrastructural damage may have occurred.
