Greece: Airport traffic control staff strike scheduled for November 25 and 26

Strike by airport traffic control staff scheduled for November 25 and 26; confirm travel itineraries

A strike by air traffic control staff is scheduled to take place at airports throughout Greece, including the Athens International Airport (ATH), on Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26. The strike is being held to denounce the handling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The strike will also join the general nationwide strike which is being held to denounce the new labor legislation.

The strike by airport traffic controllers is scheduled to take place between 06:00 and 18:00 (local time) on Wednesday, and from 00:01 to 23:59 on Thursday. The strike is likely to affect both international and domestic flights.

Potentially impacted travelers are advised to monitor developments, confirm the status of their flights prior to departure, and to contact their airline for additional information. Avoid all associated protests as a precaution.
