Lightning strike in Brazzaville leaves 20 dead on April 1; avoid the area



At least 20 people were killed by electrocution on Wednesday, April 1, when a lightning strike damaged a high-voltage power line in Kintele, a suburb of Brazzaville. The incident occurred at approximately 05:00 (local time), reportedly electrocuting people in their homes and on the street nearby. Several people were injured and are being treated at Talangai Reference Hospital as of Wednesday afternoon.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, including road closures, are to be expected in the vicinity of the incident over the coming hours.  


Individuals in Brazzaville are advised to monitor the situation, avoid the area, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
