Thailand: Severe storm warning for northern and eastern regions April 2

Severe storm warning in effect for Northern, Northeastern, Eastern, and Central Plains regions April 2-5; heavy rain, storm surge, hailstorms, and lingering associated disruptions expected

On Thursday, April 2, the Thai Meteorological Department issued warnings for severe thunderstorms and hail across the Northern, Northeastern, Eastern, and Central Plains regions of Thailand. These warnings include Bangkok and the surrounding area.

The inclement weather system is predicted to last until Sunday, April 5.

Heavy rain, hail, possible flooding, and associated transportation disruptions are expected.

Individuals in Thailand are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate lingering transportation and business disruptions, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
