Sweden: Double explosions in Stockholm wound one person January 21

Police are investigating two explosions that occurred in northwest Stockholm on January 21; at least one person injured in the blasts

An investigation is ongoing into two explosions that occurred during the early morning hours (local time) in northwest Stockholm on Tuesday, January 21. The blasts took place in Kista and Husby around 02:30, damaging apartments in both areas and injuring one person. At least 50 residents in Kista were evacuated from the affected building as a precaution following the explosion which damaged windows, power lines, and other property. Both blast sites have been cordoned off and police are still determining if the incidents are linked.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around the blast sites.
