Anti-government demonstrations to be held on November 23; heightened security presence expected



Religious and opposition leaders have called a demonstration to be held on Friday, November 23, to call for a boycott of the November 24 general elections. According to local sources, demonstrators are expected to rally near the al-Damen mosque on Friday afternoon (local time). A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated; clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.
