No casualties reported after residential building collapses in Karachi December 30; operation to clear debris ongoing



A six-story residential building collapsed in Karachi's Gazdarabad neighborhood on Monday, December 30. No casualties were reported as all occupants of the building were evacuated prior to the collapse. The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) estimated that it would take four to five days to clear the area of the rubble.

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the affected area until the debris has been cleared.
