Germany: Public transport strike to take place in Hamburg November 28

Verdi trade union calls for public transport strike in Hamburg on November 28; adjust itineraries accordingly

The trade union Verdi, which represents 87,000 workers from 130 public transport companies across the country, has called on its members to stage a 24-hour strike in Hamburg on Saturday, November 28, following unsuccessful negotiations over working hours and salaries. The walkout will begin at 03:00 (local time) and will impact bus and U-Bahn (subway) networks.

Further nationwide disruptions to service related to the dispute may take place in the near term.

Those in Hamburg are advised to monitor local media sources in order to stay abreast of any developments regarding the strike-action and adjust their itineraries accordingly to account for the disruptions to services.
