Police carry out arrest following car crash at gates of Chancellor’s office in Berlin on November 25; residual disruptions possible

Police have arrested the driver of a car that crashed into the gates of the Chancellor's office in Berlin on Wednesday, November 25. The motivation behind the incident remains unclear; however, the driver had anti-globalization slogans written on the side of his vehicle. Neither the vehicle nor the gate sustained significant damage following the crash and no significant injuries were reported.

A heightened security presence and disruptions to overland travel should be anticipated in the vicinity of the incident in the near term.
