Paraguay: Demonstrators to gather nationwide October 12

On Monday, October 12, agricultural workers and indigenous people are planning to demonstrate across the country. The demonstration in Asunción will likely be the largest and will see participants gather near the Congress building. Additional protest locations outside of the capital are unclear though will likely be held in major plazas and outside government buildings in cities. Similar past demonstrations continued throughout the day.

Localized overland travel disruptions including road blockades are to be expected in the vicinity of protests. A heightened security presence should be anticipated and clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.
