A TGV passing train derails near Saverne (Bas-Rhin department) on March 5; rail service disruptions possible



A TGV train on the Strasbourg-Paris line derailed at approximately 07:30 (local time) on Thursday, March 5, outside of Saverne (Bas-Rhin department). According to initial reports, the train derailed after striking an object on the tracks. The driver reportedly suffered serious injuries and emergency personnel have deployed to the area.
