An Israeli drone targeted a car suspected to belong to Hezbollah militants in Rif Dimashq province on Wednesday, April 15. The drone strike took place at the Jdeidat Yabous border crossing (Rif Dimashq province) and reports indicate that there were no casualties following the attack and only minor material damages. Israel did not immediately comment on the incident.
Similar Israeli airstrikes targeting military positions and militant groups in Syria are possible over the near term.
The Israeli military has struck more than 200 targets in Syria over the past two years, many of which have been arms depots and military facilities allegedly receiving arms and fighters from Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
Due to extremely poor security conditions, Western governments generally advise against all travel to Syria, with some banning travel to the country. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to any travel.
