According to local officials, at least one person was killed and nine others wounded after three rockets struck Baghdad International Airport (BGW) on Thursday, January 2. The rockets reportedly landed near the air cargo terminal, destroying two vehicles. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. 

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are expected at BGW over the coming hours. Additional rocket attacks are possible in the area over the near term.
