The Indonesian Two-Wheeled Action Association (Garda) has called for demonstrations in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 15, and Thursday, January 16, to demand the legalization of ojol (online motocycle taxi drivers) and the evaluation of ojol tariffs nationwide. Participants plan to gather at the IRTI Monas until 13:00 (local time) on Wednesday, and then march to Merdeka Palace via the Ministry of Transportation. On Thursday, supporters are due to protest at the Parliament Building. The Presidium of Garda reportedly said that he expects at least 5000 drivers from across Indonesia to participate in the demonstrations. The Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner confirmed that 2040 police personnel will deploy to secure the protest action on Wednesday, according to local media outlets.

Associated disruptions to transport and business are expected near all demonstrations.
