Transportation staff schedule strike in Mexico City on February 19; transportation disruptions expected system-wide

Transportation staff have called for a strike in Mexico City on Wednesday, February 19, to call for increased salaries. All public transportation is therefore expected to be affected. In addition, several protests will take place, all as of 07:00 (local time), at the metro stations La Raza, Puebla, General Anaya, and on Avenida Constituyentes. Participants will gather afterwards at the Zócalo.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests. Transport delays should be expected throughout the city. An increased demand for alternative modes of transportation are anticipated on Wednesday throughout Mexico City.
