Airplane accident disrupts flight operations at Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank (California) December 6



Flights at Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank (California) are disrupted after Southwest Airlines Flight 278 from Oakland (California) skidded off the runway at approximately 09:05 (local time). According to officials, the runway where the incident took place is closed until further notice, but the other runway and airport remain open. Southwest Airlines has canceled all inbound flights until 13:55. Thunderstorms are also expected in the Burbank area through the evening hours which may further impact flight operations.
