A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck 22 km (14 mi) south of Sumar city (Kermanshah province), near the Iranian-Iraqi border, at approximately 14:37 (local time) on Monday, April 1. No associated damages or casualties were immediately reported. Aftershocks are possible in the area over the coming hours and days.
