Argentina: Anti-abortion demonstrations to be held nationwide November 28

Anti-abortion demonstrations to be held nationwide on November 28; avoid protests as a precaution

Demonstrations are set to take place nationwide on Saturday, November 28, to denounce a proposed bill that would legalize abortion in the country. The Catholic Church of Argentina has called for nationwide protests to oppose the bill, which President Alberto Fernandez intends to finalize by the end of the year. One march has been planned in the capital Buenos Aires and is set to commence at 17:00 (local time) from the Urquiza Monument to the Casa de Gobierno

A heightened police presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of any demonstration site.

Those in Argentina, particularly in Buenos Aires, are advised to monitor the situation, avoid demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and heed any instructions issued by local authorities.
