Nigeria: Ban on commercial motorcycles in Lagos to take effect February 1

On Monday, January 27, authorities announced that a ban on commercial motorbikes throughout most of Lagos (Lagos state) would take effect on Saturday, February 1. Officials cited the need to reduce overcrowding and the toll of fatal accidents in the city. 

As such, increased congestion on public transportation and increased car traffic in the city are to be anticipated.
