Netherlands: National terror threat downgraded December 9

Government downgrades national terror threat December 9; threat of attack remains “conceivable”



The National Coordinator for Security and Terrorism (NCTV) downgraded the threat of a terror attack in the Netherlands on Monday, December 9. The NCTV reduced the threat level to a three (third highest on a five-point scale), indicating that an attack is "conceivable." The threat of attack had previously been rated a four, signaling a "real" threat.


Individuals in the Netherlands are advised to adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities and report any suspicious objects or behavior to police.
