Flights to and from London's Gatwick Airport (LGW) remain delayed or diverted as of 00:30 on Thursday, December 20, following reports of two unidentified drones flying near the airfield. The airport has advised travelers with flights scheduled on Thursday to confirm the status of their flight prior to departing for the airport, as it is unclear when normal services will be able to resume. Aairport authorities are reportedly working with police to investigate the incident. Several arriving flights have been diverted to other regional airports, including Heathrow Airport (LHR) and London Stansted Airport (STN).

The runway at LGW was closed after two drones were spotted over the airfield at LGW at 21:03. The drones have reportedly been sighted near the airport multiple times since the initial incident.
