Finland: LGBT group to hold rallies August 29-31

Rallies in support of transgender rights will be held in Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku from August 29-31; localized traffic disruptions expected

SETA (Seksuaalinen tasavertaisuus), a pro-LGBT group, is organizing a series of demonstrations in support of transgender rights across Finland from Wednesday, August 29, through Friday, August 31. The first rally will be held in Helsinki on Wednesday starting at 16:00 (local time) at Narinkkator. On Thursday, August 30, SETA supporters are scheduled to meet in the Puutori area of Turku at 16:00. The final demonstration will also start at 16:00 on Friday in Tampere. Localized traffic disruptions are expected around all three events.
