Fire breaks out near Gare de Lyon railway station in Paris February 28; significant transportation disruptions expected

A major fire reportedly broke out near Gare de Lyon railway station in southeastern Paris at approximately 18:00 (local time) on Friday, February 28. Police have called for an evacuation of the station and warned individuals to avoid the area. Evacuation and firefighting efforts are ongoing as of 18:40.  

Roads in the area have been closed and public transport service has been significantly disrupted. Further transportation disruptions are to be expected over the coming hours.
