Dominican Republic: Pension reform protest scheduled in Santo Domingo January 23

Several Dominican labor unions have called for a protest in Santo Domingo on Thursday, January 23, to call for reforms to the national pension system. Participants are scheduled to gather at the business center Torre Empresarial and will later proceed to the National Congress. The time of the gathering was not immediately clear.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence is to be expected in the vicinity of the march.
