Event

Passe Livre has called for two additional protests in São Paulo on Wednesday, January 29, and Thursday, January 30, to oppose police violence. Clashes took place between police and participants in previous protests, which sought to call on government to revoke a transportation fee hike. On Wednesday, participants will gather at the Secretary of Public Safety as of 17:00 (local time). Another protest is scheduled at the same location on Thursday, also at 17:00.

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the protests.

Advice

Individuals in São Paulo are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all public demonstrations as a precaution, and anticipate localized disruptions.
