Taxi drivers are set to strike and protest in Lima and Callao on Monday, December 16, to demand that the ride sharing service be legalized. The protest in Lima will take place at Plaza Dos de Mayo from 09:00 to 11:00 (local time). Lima police have issued a high risk level warning for the protest based on the November 25 protest that caused severe transportation disruptions. Taxi service interruptions are to be expected. Associated localized transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected across Lima and Callao.
