A gunman reportedly killed two police officers responding to an assault call in the Diamond Head area of Honolulu (Hawaii state) on Sunday morning (local time), January 19. The site of the shootings, reportedly a home on Hibiscus Drive, caught on fire following the shootings and has spread to at least four other nearby houses. Police and firefighters have responded to the incident and are on the scene; Honolulu Police have closed Hibiscus Drive and connecting streets to traffic for a police investigation.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected in the area over the coming hours.
