Saudi Arabia: Houthi drones intercepted near Abha and Khamis Mushait March 26

Arab Coalition forces intercept suspected Houthi drones near Abha and Khamis Mushait on March 26

The Arab Coalition intercepted multiple drones near Abha and Khamis Mushait on Thursday, March 26. According to a coalition spokesperson, Houthi militants are suspected of launching the drones to target civilian infrastructure. No damages were reported from the attack.

Further cross-border attacks are possible over the near term.

Houthi rebels have claimed several missile attacks targeting Saudi facilities and infrastructure since late May 2019. The group has targeted airports in Abha, Jizan, and Najran. Yemen is engaged in a complex and deadly conflict, ongoing since Houthi rebels entered into a civil war with the Yemeni government, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, in 2015.

Individuals in Saudi Arabia are advised to monitor developments to the situation and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
