Guinea: Unions announce nationwide general strike from March 19

On Wednesday, March 18, a coalition of 11 unions affiliated to the United Trade Union of Guinean Workers (USTG) announced that an indefinite general strike will take place across the country from Thursday, March 19. The strike will be followed by both private and public employees to denounce the wage stagnation, among other things. 

Significant disruptions are to be anticipated throughout the country and associated protests are also possible.
