Nationwide anti-government protests scheduled on November 22; disruption likely



Anti-government demonstrations are scheduled to take place throughout urban centers of Belarus, including Minsk, on Sunday, November 22. The demonstrations are scheduled to take place at approximately 12:00 (local time). Organizers of the event have called for participants to demonstrate in their local areas.

Previous related demonstrations have led to heavy-handed police measures, including the use of water cannon and stun grenades in an effort to disperse demonstrators.
