The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.3-magnitude earthquake 187 km (116 mi) northwest of Salta (Salta Province) at approximately 19:55 (local time) on Monday, November 30. The quake struck at a depth of 147 km (91 mi) and there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected areas over the coming hours and days.
