Tribal clashes kill one in Bani Walid (Misrata province) on November 24; further clashes are possible in the near term

At least one person was killed on Tuesday, November 24, during tribal clashes in Bani Walid (Misrata province). Local sources indicate that members of the Al-Futtam tribe clashed in the Wadi Souf al Jin area in a dispute over land ownership.

Tensions remain in the area and further confrontations are possible.

Those in Misrata are advised to monitor the situation for developments and heed any directives issued by local authorities.

The security environment in Libya remains complex. Although travel is possible in some areas (with appropriate security protocols in place), other areas should be considered strictly off-limits. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to travel.
