Protest over socio-economic conditions to be held in Khartoum on December 2: avoid all large gatherings as a precaution

Demonstrators are planning to gather in Khartoum on Wednesday, December 2, to protest against deteriorating socio-economic conditions in the country. Participants will reportedly gather outside the General Command building at 12:00 (local time), with reports of the authorities erecting checkpoints and closing roads ahead of the demonstration.

A heightened security presence and associated disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the protest site. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Those in Khartoum are advised to monitor developments, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
