Israel/Palestinian Terr.: World Holocaust Forum to be held in Jerusalem January 20-24

Traffic disruptions expected in Jerusalem January 20-24, as heads of state gather for 5th World Holocaust Forum; heightened security presence expected at all events



More than 40 heads of state will travel to Jerusalem between Monday, January 20, and Friday, January 24, to participate in the 5th World Holocaust Forum. The main event, which coincides with International Holocaust Remembrance Day, will be held at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum on Thursday, January 23. On Wednesday, January 22, leaders will gather at President Reuven Rivlin's official residence in Jerusalem for a dinner and discussion. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, including road closures, are to be expected in the vicinity of both events.

Police warned residents in Jerusalem to expect significant transportation disruptions across downtown Jerusalem, particularly in the vicinity of the King David Hotel, from January 20-24.  


Individuals in Jerusalem are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid large public gatherings as a precaution, anticipate a heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
