Niger: Taxi driver strike in Niamey November 28

Taxi drivers stage strike in Niamey November 28; transportation disruptions expected

Unions representing taxi drivers have called for a strike to be held in Niamey on Wednesday, November 28. According to local sources, the strike is being organized to protest the increasing price of fuel. Transportation disruptions are expected during the planned strike, as well as higher demand for alternate means of transportation.

Individuals in Niamey are advised to book necessary transportation services as early as possible in anticipation of a shortage of available taxis, allow for extra time to reach their destinations in affected areas, and avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution.
