Germany: Weather warnings issued nationwide March 10-12

Meteorological authorities issue wind and rain warnings nationwide March 10-12; anticipate transportation disruptions



Weather officials issued several warnings for wind and rain to affect most of the country from Tuesday, March 10, through Thursday, March 12. Wind warnings are expected to remain in place until Wednesday, March 11, at 12:00 (local time) in the country's central and southernmost areas, while orange warnings for rain will be in effect until Thursday, March 12, at 12:00 in central Germany. An additional red warning remains in place in the Harz district (Saxony-Anhalt state) until Wednesday March 11, at 12:00, where wind gusts of up to 120 kph (75 mph) are forecast.
