France: Reports of shots fired in Besançon December 25

Shots were reportedly fired rue de Fribourg, located in the Planoise district of Besançon in the evening (local time) on Wednesday, December 25. According to local sources, at least 30 shots were heard and three people were injured. The police is on the scene to investigate the situation and the area has been put on lockdown until further notice. Roads have been closed in the surrounding area . A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected over the coming hours.
