The Met Office issued weather warnings on Thursday, January 9, due to inclement weather in the forecast for northern England and Wales. Yellow warnings for rain will be in effect on Saturday, January 11, from 04:00 to 21:00 (local time); yellow warnings for wind will also be in effect on Saturday, from 03:00 to 18:00 with wind gusts of 113 kph (70 mph) expected. Downpours are possible in the affected areas and could lead to significant disruptions on all forms of transportation.
