Six people died and several houses and a primary school were destroyed in Sake in Masisi territory (North Kivu province) following heavy rains on Sunday, November 15. The rain led to the overflowing of the Tharabonze River and caused flooding in the Matcha and Kimoka areas of Sake. This was the second major flooding reported in the city recently after rains caused deluges in October.

Residual disruptions to transport, businesses, and utilities are possible in the near term following the flooding.
