Further protests are possible in the capital Tirana in the coming days over government plans to demolish houses to expand a road, as well as the low compensation proposed to the home owners. Clashes occurred between protesters and police in front of the Parliament building on Thursday, November 22, resulting in 15 people injured. Further demonstrations are likely to take place in front of the Parliament or at the demolition site; associated transportation disruptions are expected.
