Unidentified militants have reportedly launched attacks on at least three security checkpoints in Mogadishu's Hiliwa and Yaqshid districts late Dec. 3. Preliminary information indicates the attackers assaulted the installations using rocket-propelled grenade launchers (RPG) and automatic weapons. Casualty figures are unclear. Security forces are responding.

Shelter in place until the situation stabilizes and security forces have given the all-clear. Plan accordingly for increased security and traffic disruptions into at least late Dec. 4. Maintain contact with your diplomatic mission.
