Local media reports indicate that a local militia based on the outskirts of Beledweyne entered the city early Dec. 4 and are present in certain parts, including the Hawa Taako and Koshin neighborhoods. Unconfirmed reports indicate that militants are in the vicinity of Beledweyne Airport to prevent the arrival of Ali Gudlawe into the city. Gunfire has been reported between federal police and the militia.
