Emergency workers are responding to a structure fire in the Delicias area of Mexico City during the early morning hours of Jan. 9. The fire has been reported at the Metro office building located in the area. Major transport disruptions have been reported, including cancellations on Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. It is currently unclear if there have been fatalities or casualties as a result of the incident.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely to continue in the coming hours.

Avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear. Allow additional time to reach destinations in the Delicias area of Mexico City; seek alternative routes to circumvent the incident site. Consider remaining indoors if smoke is heavy, especially if you suffer from a respiratory illness, such as asthma, or conditions that lead to increased risk from smoke exposure. Eye irritation is possible; flush irritated eyes with copious amounts of clean water.
