Travel disruptions are ongoing along the M1 highway in Enukweni, Mzimba District, Northern Region, Malawi, Jan. 13 after heavy rains caused a bridge to collapse Jan. 12. Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on both lanes of the highway. Traffic is being diverted along Engucwini road.

Transport disruptions are likely to persist along the highway in the coming days as repairs are undertaken. Lingering disruptions are likely when the affected part of the highway reopens.
