Egypt: Planned water outages to affect parts of Tanta through Jan. 20

The Gharbia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company has announced that planned water outages will occur in the second district of Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, from 0800-1500 daily through Jan. 20 for routine maintenance work. The disruption will affect a different street or area of the district each day. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, beyond the maintenance hours.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
