Informational

Event

The Aswan Drinking Water and Sanitation Company has announced that a planned water outage will occur in parts of Aswan from 2200 Jan. 22 to 0600 Jan. 23 for maintenance work. Affected areas include Abbas Farid, Corniche, Manshiyet Al Nouba, Sheikh Haroun, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through the afternoon of Jan. 23.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
