DRC: Protests ongoing in Kinshasa, Jan. 25

Violent protests have occurred at the Central Market in Kinshasa Jan. 25. The incident reportedly involves traders who oppose the temporary closure of the market. Protesters have blocked roads, including the arterial Commerce Avenue, and have set fire to some market stalls. Security forces have been deployed to the area and have attempted to disperse participants. There are no confirmed reports of casualties thus far.
