A significant number of security services are currently deployed to the Bahnhofsviertel area of Frankfurt Jan. 26 following a stabbing incident that occurred around 0900. Local media sources report one attacker injured at least three people; no motive has been confirmed, but media reports suggest the attacker may have been under the influence of drugs. Police have confirmed the attacker has been arrested and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Security services have cordoned off a large area of Bahnhofsviertel to facilitate the emergency response and police investigations. Mainzer Landstrasse, Dusseldorferstrasse, Moselstrasse, and Karlstrasse are currently closed to traffic. Public transport normally routed through the area may be canceled or diverted; access to Frankfurt Central Station may also be disrupted. Increased security and related disruptions will continue in the area through at least the afternoon of Jan. 26.
