Authorities have closed Van Don International Airport (VDO) in Quang Ninh Province, northeastern Vietnam, since the morning of Jan. 28. The policy is to facilitate coronavirus disease (COVID-19) disinfection measures after officials announced a VDO employee had tested positive for COVID-19. The airport will likely remain closed through at least Jan. 29. Authorities have diverted VDO flights to nearby airports.

Tight security measures are likely at and around VDO. Localized ground transport disruptions may occur due to the security measures.

VDO is around 81 km (50 miles) east-northeast of Hai Phong.
