Guinea: Nationwide demonstrations scheduled on November 25

Nationwide demonstrations over election results scheduled for November 25; disruption likely

Nationwide demonstrations have been scheduled to take place throughout urban centers of Guinea on Wednesday, November 25. The demonstrations have been organized by opposition candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo, who came runner-up in the presidential elections. The demonstrations are being held to denounce the alleged use of excessive force used by security forces during opposition protests following the presidential election results. In Conakry, demonstrators are set to march from Gbessia International Airport (CKY) to Palais du Peuple.

Further demonstrations are likely in the coming days. A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the demonstrations.

Individuals in Guinea are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
